Hey chaps, hopefully we can arrange this one on the weekend.
Most of us are GMT+8 (for comparison, AEDT is GMT+10).

Remember to set daylight savings so we won't get any confusion on the time.

Is an evening weekend scrim good for you?
Thu Oct 06, 2011 2:38 pm

We've set a challenge (Saturday, 6pm, GMT+8).
Please confirm if this is OK with you.
Sat Oct 08, 2011 6:27 am

Saturday is usually bad for us - is sunday same time good for you? - our best nights are wednesday and sunday
Sun Oct 09, 2011 8:31 am

Yup we're good for that.
Remember to set daylight saving btw, don't want one group to show up an hour late.

Our home server is in Hong Kong, IP: 124.244.251.64:27971
Our map is ut4_orbital_sl
We'll PM you the password.

You up for 1 map on our server, 1 map on your server?
Mon Oct 10, 2011 1:51 am

hey sunday might be a problem - is wednesday ok for you guys?
Tue Oct 11, 2011 6:04 am

Hey there, we can't make this Wednesday on such short notice. Many of us will only get back from work at around 7pm (GMT+8), I'm worried this might be a little late for you.

Are you guys free any time on Friday, Saturday or Sunday?

Also, since there's only 5 teams in our division, we'll have 3-4 weeks extra to schedule all our matches. So we have more time to find a comfortable slot for both of us.
Tue Oct 11, 2011 12:41 pm

we can play up to 11pm our time on wednesday if required - some of our members will be on holidays this weekend so we wont have enough but if you guys can manage wednesday @ 7pm +8time then i can gaurentee we will be able to play
Tue Oct 11, 2011 1:12 pm

Sorry, but again we can't make Wednesday on such short notice.

If you guys are off on the weekend, how's Thursday or Friday?
Tue Oct 11, 2011 1:50 pm

you generally dont have extra time to play your match

schedule asap or it will be forced for sunday
Tue Oct 11, 2011 3:55 pm

thursday should be fine
Wed Oct 12, 2011 5:52 am

- "justice"

thursday should be fine

Yeap.

Thursday:
7pm GMT+8
10pm GMT+11 AEDT

Is that good for you?
Will pass all relevant server details later today.
Wed Oct 12, 2011 8:42 am

yep that should be fine, we should at least have 4 on and hopefully 5

can i please have the password to your server asap to ping test? i've been told that ping to that server from my ISP is 400 :/

would -VA- consider a nuetral server where we both ping even? We have access to kp10 California server where we ping 180-250? is this an option you guys are willing to consider?
Wed Oct 12, 2011 10:10 am

Our public -VA- bomb server is 124.244.251.64:27962.
Our host has a 1000M connection dedicated to this server and some file hosting.

But a neutral US server would be great.
Do you have the IP and password for the server?

Tentatively, yes, lets play both maps on the US server.
Wed Oct 12, 2011 10:52 am

74.207.244.239:27960

the password might be ausvbra (if there is a password) - it should have urban zone TS cfg
Wed Oct 12, 2011 2:47 pm

Quick Update:
Some of our players reporting constant CI's to the server.

I've found another middle ground: Singapore.
Directly in between Hong Kong and Australia.
Just bought a server, will inform you of the details as soon as it goes live, so you can test asap.

We both should ping (hopefully) under 100.

EDIT:
The Singapore server IP is 216.12.220.163:27960.
The password is vam4.

Unfortunately the kp10 cali server is unsuitable. If this singaporean server is not OK with you, we should play 1 map in Hong Kong server, 1 map in Australian server.

The Hong Kong server IP is 124.244.251.64:27963.
There is no password

we ping 350-400 ping on your hong kong server with constant CI....
Thu Oct 13, 2011 1:52 pm

Bad game actually.
Two of our mates constant CI.

Anyways all the best for you in next games.
Thu Oct 13, 2011 1:54 pm

sorry about the bad ping situation - thanks for the game <3
Thu Oct 13, 2011 4:37 pm

As I've heard this match was unreasonably forced by 7G to an earlier date when we could have had it forced to Sunday. Ocean already stated that the California server was not stable for us so why did we play both rounds there? It should have been 1 round in each team's server to make it fair.

You not only asked us to change the schedule more than once to suit you, but you also encouraged us to play both maps at a disadvantaged ping.

While it is accepted that you beat us, you should acknowledge that you organised us to play under disadvantaged terms.

In future UZL matches, it would be nice if you could practice fair play.
Thu Oct 13, 2011 10:22 pm

LOL we didnt force anything. We were on your HK/Singapore server ready to play there and had a Sydney server ready for the 2nd map BUT ONCE WE ENTERED YOUR SERVER WITH ALL 350+ PING, YOUR TEAM SUGGESTED WE GO TO OUR US WEST COAST SERVER AND AGREED TO PLAY THERE. We may have complained about the ping and constant CI on your server but that didn't mean that we werent prepared to play as per our agreement (after not being able to find a suitable nuetral server)

Please get your facts straight wantWit.

I'm sorry if REQUESTING a reschedule, based on new information I wasnt aware of regarding our availibility, was such an incorrect thing to do. We NEGOTIATED a time to play - I never "forced" anyone to play at anytime. You always have the option of playing at the forced matchtime if you cannot agree to a date within the week. Thats standard. At no point did any of us say "YOU MUST PLAY NOW" - I simply offered some dates we were available, Ocean offered some dates in return and we found a common date that would work for both teams.

"you should acknowledge that you organised to play under disadvantaged terms" - I did acknowledge it; the last post before yours... "sorry about the bad ping situation" and I mean it. No one likes playing 350 ping so I can empathise with the frustration but -VA- didnt have to play on our server - we didnt even /ready on the 2nd map. -VA- didnt offer to go back to their server and your team /ready first so that made it obvious that they intended to play there. After winning first map 28-4 I think it was clear that server change wouldnt have made much of a difference in the end.

Idealy in the future, we will play 1 map HK and 1 map Sydney to avoid this drama. I'm told that South East Asia pings well to Perth? Is this true? If so we will look into finding a Perth server next time but for now, gg. Thanks for the game -VA-.

LOL
It was clear when GHOST won 1 vs 5 that we could have won Out map Our server

No need to drag it anymore
Fri Oct 14, 2011 3:05 am

I had constant CI's previously on the US server, but it was slightly better for the scrim. Semi-constant CI's close to 400 ping.

Fragnetic and Jigsaw told me they won't play on our Hong Kong server with 300+ ping, so I complied.

The Singaporean server should've offered best ping for both, it being an internet hub and geographically close to both of us, but that server was bad ping for both.

It's unfortunate that we've to go across the Pacific to play this match, but that's just life. Some soldier once told me that it was unfortunate Iraq was located in the middle of a desert wasteland, but you don't choose where your enemies will live.

Nothing ever gets settled by a flame war, so how about another scrim after UZL?
Fri Oct 14, 2011 4:33 am

As I recall when some of the 7G members arrived in the HK TS server they said something along the lines of 'we can't play here' and proceeded to complain about the the connection. I'll ask for logs if you like.

Having said that you guys have a very good team so it's not that we're saying we would have won it's just that it would have been nice to have been able to try. Instead the connection to the kp10 server was at times simply unplayable.
Fri Oct 14, 2011 10:12 am

@ savage: you won't need logs, your server was unplayable.

Credit to Ocean for keeping this on topic and relatively civil.

I'd just like to point out that at no time during our match were any of these concerns raised. In future, if you have a problem, you should aim to sort it out before you ready your team.

Best of luck for the rest of the tournament VA
