New accounts default to GMT with no DST unless you tell it otherwise, so match dates posted in CET, for example, will be 2 hours out for you. This can lead to mix-ups with match times.
If you set your timezone correctly dates and times will always be displayed to you in your timezone. So if someone challenges you to a match @ 20:00 in their timezone, and you're 2 hours ahead of them, it'll appear as 22:00 to you and you'll both be seeing the correct time relative to your timezone.
