With a reshuffle in staff we're also interested in your thought as to the future of Urban-Zone.

1) We want to know what kind of competition would you want? For about three years we've had the multi-staged group stage and elimination round. Not a real league but great for storytelling. Previous years we had a traditional league in which there were no elimination rounds. We've put up a poll and are interested in your thoughts, please also discuss your vote as that gives us more insight into your preferences.

2) The short events like 2on2, knockout have been a lot of fun, we will continue with these but possibly some of you have thoughts on improving the events or maybe adding new events. Skeetshoot for instance, or jumping. But we're looking for specific ideas so feel free to share how you would like such events to take place.

Any other suggestions are also very welcome Smile

Something competitive players might be missing are decent servers without weird map rotation/bad moderation.

Maybe we could try to run one server under urban-zone.org name and then add another if players find it.

"www.urban-zone.org - TS - competitive maps"
"www.urban-zone.org - CTF -competitive maps"

If server(s) are really really success maybe one NA-server.

Server rent is a big question for sure, but we can solve it later ie. after setting some polls about this subject etc. This whole thing really depends how rest of the community take this idea. Moving on to new UrT would be easy.

I do not know a lot about "server bots" but maybe there is possibility to send chat messages to players like "red vs. blue wintercup - stream online @ www.www.www" or "signup for winter cup now"

Hosting something isn't hard, but I think it would be easier to recommend one of the already popular servers. Sexy's has a 43 server and it's fairly active.

More fragmentation would surely not help.

BTW, regarding your question, Seven. I'm not sure whether we should choose the fastest option, which means less time required for teams to be active and resulting in less drop outs, or the option which has a lot of matches, but might end up in lots of forfeits.

Suggesting newcomers as a Speedrun jumping competition or just simple jumping toornament would be a good idea. I have this project with Hugo and Darken from Loul jumping Team.

With the amount of players left I think you should put on 1on1 competitions as well (on small custom maps like arena, etc.). A speedrun/race map like the one Samschun organized a few years ago (on quake 3 maps) would be a really good idea too.

Anyway, if you don't decide to do something quickly, the players may even forget that this website actually exists.
