Posted: Thu Nov 28, 2013 2:59 pm Author: Chamonix Seeing as though, season by season, more people leave and the game gets quieter, can we try get UrT into the Steam Greenlight scheme? It's a perfect way, if it works, to get loads more people playing and for seasons to be full again.
I don't exactly know much about it, but it's £70 for a submission, that's it. (most of that is to charity too). I'm sure if FZ are down with it, we could raise those funds here very easily. Seeing as though other Quake mods have made it through, I'm sure UrT wouldn't have much of a problem.

Worked for other free fps before. Even for "freemium" fps like A.V.A.
But this is only a method for medium-term, to get people playing UrT on longer term both community and the game itself need to be healthy and beginner friendly.

FS doesn't own all the content of 4.2 hence afaik it's not possible to go to steam.

Some of the textures/models/sounds etc, are as old as the game itself. I'd just like to say that steam is most definitely on FS's radar (note: I'm not saying we're going for it, but we are interested). First step on the ladder though it (re)make this game with FS assets only.
